Understanding When Extremism Gives Way to Moderate Politics: The Case of Sri Lanka, 1983–2016
This project examines why, despite expectations, the LTTE (‘Tamil Tigers’) has not returned to fighting. The research focuses on the role and significance of politics among diaspora Tamils, specifically the side-lining of pro-LTTE organisations in the post-2009 period, the fracturing of international separatist networks, and the rise of moderate politics.
