NABS+ is delighted to offer academics the opportunity to undertake internship placements within industry or government. These placements are tailored to provide interns with the chance to further develop skills and knowledge while completing research activities of relevance to the host that align with our broad NABS+ challenge areas.
NABS+ has two internship routes: (i) those organised and advertised by NABS+, and (ii) those self-organised by the applicant. Click the relevant route below:

Call Summary
- We will fund up to nine (9) Internship placements, with a maximum funding of £9,000 per internship (at 100% Full Economic Cost).
- Internship placements are open to academics at various stages of their career from early career researchers (PhD students in their second year upwards) to more senior staff. Priority will be given to early and mid career staff.
- The duration of an internship can vary. Typically, placements would last no less than 8 weeks for full-time academics and no less than 12 weeks for PhD students.
- Internships can be selected from those advertised by NABS+ or can be arranged by the applicant and a host organisation.
